Gimme that

I’ve been experimenting with Google’s new AI video generator, and it’s as eerie as it is powerful. You input a few lines, and it generates a visual narrative from thin air—fictional, fictionalized, or eerily familiar.

Then, the series finale of The Handmaid’s Tale aired, reminding me how stories can be shaped, censored, spun, or softened depending on who’s telling them. One angle makes you a rebel. Another, a traitor. Another, a forgotten wife on a shelf.

It made me think: we’re all going to have to write our own books about what happened—not just in Gilead, but in our lives, our industries, our families. In this new AI-filtered, algorithm-distorted age, it’s too easy for information to be misconstrued, remixed, or erased entirely.

Meanwhile, I’ve been working on projects that live in this blurry, transitional space between feeling and tech. I’m creating animated motion assets for Breathelite, exploring that dreamy pre-logo phase where movement precedes identity. I’m also illustrating a capsule for a New Jersey-based fashion brand—surfwear and shoreline apparel for Jersey girls. Think boardwalk grit meets bubble-letter sweetness: bold, nostalgic, and a little salty, like sea air after a heartbreak.

This summer, millennial consumer behavior is shaped by a tug-of-war between restraint and longing.

  • 43% of U.S. consumers cite rising prices as a top concern (McKinsey)
  • 84% of millennials plan to spend the same or more on travel in 2025, averaging $4,141 per trip (Condor Ferries)
  • UX is a dealbreaker: Gen Y prioritizes fast checkout, clean layouts, and seamless mobile design (GWI)
  • And over 60% of millennials actively seek continuing education in the workplace (Devlin Peck)

So whether it’s a video, a novel, a tweet, or a textile—tell your story. Archive your version. The future is coming fast, but the meaning will always be something we make by hand.
